I absolutely believe that food lays at the heart of every culture. And so, unshockingly, I dined and wined and dined in Italy until I literally could no longer walk. The crisp octopus of the Venetian sea paired with the delicate garlic marinara sauce and thick, homemade spaghetti. Even I, lactose intolerant as I am, could not resist the finely and freshly grated parmesan. I would be lying if I said I didn’t still dream of the bursting euphoric flavors penetrating my tongue. Truly, I don’t believe my taste buds have ever been so deliriously thrilled. For three nights, I watched the moon as I sipped on Pinot Grigio, overlooking the canals and colored homes, thinking of the pizza pies I had yet to eat.
